How do I find out my level if I don't know where to start?
There's no need to worry about this. Before almost any course we check your level with a diagnostic and place you at the right step — from A1 to C1. Want to know your level in advance — message us and we'll arrange a test. It commits you to nothing.
How long does it take to prepare for the A2 exam?
On average 3–5 months with regular lessons, if you are in a language environment. The exact time depends on your starting level and how regularly you study on your own.
Can I learn Latvian from scratch if I speak only English?
Yes. We have programmes for English-speaking learners, starting from the very first words. The materials are modern, with living vocabulary that people actually use — not textbooks from a past era.
How do I claim back part of my tuition costs through a tax return?
Tuition at Latvian Easy can be included in your eligible expenses (attaisnotie izdevumi) in your VID tax return. We provide a certificate and payment documents. From 2025 the refund is calculated at a rate of 25.5% within a limit of €600 per person per year — up to €153 back. It also works for a child's tuition, and any amount above the limit carries over to the next three years.
How is a school course different from a private tutor?
A systematic approach. We have a single method, a programme built around your goal and progress checks all the way through. If a teacher isn't the right fit, we'll replace them without losing momentum: your lesson history and programme are kept. A good tutor can deliver results, but first you have to find one and test them on yourself. A school removes that risk.
Are the lessons suitable if I don't live in Latvia?
Yes, most of our students learn online.
All our formats (one-to-one, pair and group lessons) are available from anywhere in the world. In person is optional — in the centre of Riga.
Can we pay for staff training with VAT invoices?
Yes — corporate rates and full paperwork.
