The group keeps you going

Studying regularly on your own is hard. A group gives you rhythm, support and a shared goal — a real boost to your own motivation.

Everyone at the same level

Groups are formed by starting level. We move forward all together. There’s no shame in mistakes — everyone around you is learning too.

all the way

A programme from A to Z

Our own programme covers everything you need to know at the new level and reinforces it in practice — interactive, never dull. We don’t teach things at random; we head straight for the goal.

Four programmes by level

Each group is a complete course with a clear goal and a defined timeframe — not lessons that run «for as long as they last».

Groups are right for you if:

You want to reach a new level of Latvian with a proven programme designed specifically for passing the VISC exams.
You’re ready for regular lessons on a firm schedule to get a steady result.
Constant speaking practice matters to you — real conversation with different people.
You want a quality result on a sensible budget (€12.5 per lesson versus €35 one-on-one).
You need the motivation to keep at it: in a group it’s easier not to give up on the days you don’t feel like it.

VISC in 4 months? Workplace vocabulary? Shoring up weak spots after a long break? The programme is built individually for you.

A flexible schedule

Morning, evening, weekends — you pick the slots with your teacher. Lessons can be rescheduled. Your life doesn’t have to bend around your studies.

Speed of progress

A one-on-one approach delivers speed and results. The programme adapts to you: A2 is realistic in 3 months, B1 — another 4.

One-on-one is right for you if:

You want the whole learning process built around your goal, your pace and your interests.
You prefer a study schedule arranged individually, whenever suits you.
You’d rather not share the teacher’s attention — every minute of the lesson is yours.
You want to target the weak spots that have held back your progress for years.

Learn with someone you know: a spouse, friend or colleague. With someone familiar there’s less self-consciousness — it’s easier to try speaking and not fear mistakes.

Double the motivation

Learning as a pair is effective and fun: you can support each other and practise speaking even outside lessons. And with a partner who shares your goal, it’s easier to keep the rhythm and not abandon your studies halfway.

A pair is right for you if:

You want to learn just as effectively as in one-on-one lessons, but at a better price for each of you.
You have a partner with a similar starting level — both from scratch, both heading for A2, both after a long break.
You need lively speaking practice — half the lesson is spent in dialogue with your partner, not only with the teacher.

our approach

We teach like adults

No 1990s workbooks and no children’s textbook. An approach built for an adult who already works and lives in Latvia.

Diāna Karpova — founder of the school
from the founder

«A language is a tool for your life. We build the learning around how you’re actually going to use it.»

Diāna Karpova

You speak from the first lesson

Not «first 200 words, then we’ll try». The minimal phrases for the shop, the office and the doctor work right after your first lesson. Progress you can see straight away.

A programme from adult life

Topics and materials come from real life: work, renting, the doctor, public offices. Interesting to learn and ready to use in your daily routine. In parallel we prepare you for the VISC exam if your goal is naturalisation or a residence permit.

We grow case by case

The team grows together with the students: we keep learning, work through tricky cases and share what we find. We’re always looking for new ways to make learning engaging and effective for everyone.

Prefer to learn on your own?

Self-study course: from scratch to A2

If live lessons don’t fit your schedule or budget — there’s a complete online course that takes you from zero to category A2 at your own pace. 28 lessons, video, tests and 100+ practical tasks, with a live curator to check your work — you won’t be left on your own.

Students’ frequent questions

We’ve gathered the things people most often ask before signing up. If you can’t find the answer you need, write to us — we’ll help with any question.

I’m 45+. Is it too late to start Latvian?
No, it’s a great age to start. More than a third of our students begin after the age of 35 and go on to pass international exams. Adults have a real advantage — well-developed logical thinking: they grasp the structure and grammar of the language faster. There are no age limits: we have students learning successfully at 50, 60 and beyond.
What if I miss a lesson because of work?
In the one-on-one and pair formats we reschedule; in a group you’ll get a recording and the materials. A one-on-one lesson is rescheduled free of charge if you give at least 12 hours’ notice; with later cancellation the lesson counts as held. A group lesson isn’t rescheduled — the teacher will record it, and the homework will be waiting in the online classroom.
How can I claim back part of my tuition costs through my tax return?
Tuition at Latvian Easy can be included as justified expenses (attaisnotie izdevumi) in your VID tax return. We issue a certificate and the payment documents. From 2025 the refund is calculated at a rate of 25.5% within an annual limit of €600 per person — up to €153 back. It also applies to a child’s tuition costs, and any amount above the limit carries over to the following three years.
Which format should I choose — a group or one-on-one?
A group works if you have free evenings and budget matters. One-on-one is a lifesaver when there’s a deadline or an unusual schedule. A pair is great when you have a learning partner: as effective as one-on-one, but 35% cheaper per student. Not sure? Write to us — we’ll recommend a format and explain why.
Can a company pay for its employees’ tuition?
Yes, there are separate corporate terms. A contract, invoices with VAT, and employee progress reports for HR and accounting. We tailor the format to the team — from 3 people to a whole department. More on the «For companies» page.
My level is somewhere between A2 and B1 — which group will I join?
At the level assessment we’ll pinpoint your level and find the right group for it. The boundaries between levels are blurred: speaking, grammar and listening comprehension often sit at different levels. The programme’s job is to even out the weak spots, not to force you into a formal box.
