Terms of Use and Refunds

1. Who we are

The latvianeasy.lv website and the Latvian Easy online school are owned and operated by:

Referred to below as «the school», «we». By using the website and ordering services, you agree to these terms.

2. Services

The school provides online tuition in Latvian and English:

• lessons in mini-groups, one-on-one and in pairs (via Zoom and the learning platform);
• self-paced online courses (access to learning materials on the platform);
• corporate training for companies (under a separate agreement).

The description, duration and prices of specific programmes are set out on the relevant pages of the website.

3. Enrolment and conclusion of the contract

Enrolment takes place through a request on the website, WhatsApp or email. After your request, we agree the programme, schedule and terms with you, after which a tuition contract is concluded and/or an invoice is issued.

A contract concluded through the website or means of communication is a distance contract within the meaning of the legislation of the Republic of Latvia. The contract is deemed concluded from the moment of payment.

4. Prices and payment

• All prices are stated in euros (EUR) and include applicable taxes.
• Payment is made by bank transfer against the issued invoice or by card through the Stripe payment service. Card details are not passed to the school and are not stored by us.
• The school may change prices for future periods; any change does not affect services already paid for.

5. Right of withdrawal within 14 days

If you are a consumer and have concluded a distance contract with us, you have the right to withdraw from it within 14 days without giving any reason — in accordance with the Consumer Rights Protection Law of the Republic of Latvia and the Cabinet of Ministers Regulations on distance contracts.

To withdraw, it is sufficient to send a free-form statement to info@latvianeasy.lv within 14 days of the conclusion of the contract (on request we will send a template withdrawal form). We will refund the payment using the same method by which it was made, no later than 14 days from receipt of the statement.

Please note the exceptions provided for by law:

• if, at your express request, the provision of the service began before the 14 days expired and you withdraw from the contract, we are entitled to retain a proportionate charge for the part of the service already provided;
• the right of withdrawal does not apply to digital content (self-paced courses) to which access has been opened with your prior express consent and your acknowledgement that you thereby lose the right of withdrawal.

6. Refunds, cancellation and rescheduling of lessons

The terms for refunds, cancellation and rescheduling of lessons beyond the 14-day withdrawal period are governed by the tuition contract concluded between the client and the school before tuition begins. The right of withdrawal described in section 5 applies in any event and is not limited by the contract.

A confirmed refund is made to the same payment method within 14 days.

7. Learning materials

All learning materials (programmes, notes, assignments, videos, platform materials) are the intellectual property of the school. They are provided for personal use as part of tuition; copying, transfer to third parties and publication without the school’s written consent are prohibited.

8. Liability

• Learning outcomes depend, among other things, on the regularity of lessons and the student’s independent work — the school does not guarantee a specific examination result.
• In the event of technical failures attributable to the school (the platform, connection on the teacher’s side), the lesson is rescheduled without loss of payment.
• The school is not responsible for the inability to take part in a lesson due to technical problems on the student’s side.

9. Disputes and applicable law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Latvia. Please send complaints to info@latvianeasy.lv — we will reply within 14 days.

If the matter cannot be resolved directly, the consumer has the right to contact the Consumer Rights Protection Centre (PTAC, ptac.gov.lv), including the Consumer Dispute Resolution Commission at PTAC, or a court in the manner prescribed by the legislation of the Republic of Latvia.

10. Changes to the terms

We may update these terms. The current version is always published on this page with the date of the update. Contracts already concluded are governed by the version in force at the time of their conclusion.
